More about chip tuning:

 

CHIP TUNING (chiptuning, ECU Remapping) - changing the standard firmware of the engine control unit to a modified one in order to increase power, torque and economy. All modern cars are equipped with an engine control unit (ECU/DME/ECM), or a computer that controls all aspects of engine operation: fuel-air mixture, ignition timing, injector operation, boost control (on turbocharged cars), etc. Changing the engine management microprogram to increase power, torque, elasticity and fuel economy is Chip Tuning. Please note that chip tuning and chip box installation are completely different things and chip box cannot be considered professional solutions.

 


TYPES OF CHIP TUNING Depending on the engine, the level of restrictions and capabilities, as well as the set goals, several main types of tuning are distinguished:

 

Eco-tuning – the purpose of such tuning is to reduce fuel consumption as much as possible. It is especially popular among truck owners, where the economy reaches 4 l/100 km.

 

Stage 1 is the most popular type of tuning for passenger cars. It does not require mechanical modifications and gives an increase in power and torque, on average 30% (on software-limited cars up to 105%), without a significant increase in fuel consumption, and often even a decrease of up to 1.5l/100km.

 

Stage 2 - a more "aggressive" setting, which requires minor mechanical modifications (removal of the catalyst and/or particulate filter + panel filter).

 

Stage 3 and above - belongs to the "Power tuning" class and requires significant mechanical modifications (exhaust, intake, turbines, etc.), allowing to increase the power several times compared to the factory one

 HOW DOES THE CHIP TUNING PROCEDURE TAKE PLACE?

 

We take a responsible approach to the finalization process. Diagnostics of the turbocharger, injectors, environmental systems (EGR/DPF/Catalyst), etc. are carried out. Then work directly with the engine control unit. We read the original engine control program, modify it and write it back. Since we use only original equipment, on most cars, reading the original firmware from the engine control unit and writing the modified file takes place through the car's diagnostic connector. In other words, we will not disassemble, open and make connections to the engine control unit, which guarantees complete safety.

In the event that working with the unit through the OBD connector is not possible, we use specially designed devices to carefully remove the unit, perform its dissection, connect to it (without the need to work with a soldering iron) and assemble it in the same way as on factory It should be noted that here too, thanks to our equipment, most of the blocks after dismantling will not require opening - we just need to connect to the block directly. In any case and for any type of work, we guarantee complete safety and fully cover all risks. After recording the modified file, additional diagnostics and a test trip are conducted, based on the results of which a decision is made on the need for debugging. When everything is ready, we hand over the car to the client. We also keep files (original and modified) from the car in our database, in case it is necessary to return the car to its original state (for example, before visiting the dealer, in the case of a warranty car).
